DETERMINATION OF COPPER BY ICP-MS

1 Solutions with copper compounds are nebulised into an argon plasma, where all components are vaporised. The ions produced are entrained in the plasma gas and introduced into a mass spectrometer, sorted according to their mass-to-charge ratios and quantified with a channel electron multiplier. Copper is determined at [Pg.88]

2 This determination may be carried out on digest 2.3 (microwave digestion with [Pg.88]

HNO3 - H3O3 - HF), digest 2.4 (digestion with HNO3 - - HF), digest 2.6 [Pg.88]

1 This procedure yields a standard curve that is linear up to at least 50 pg/L Cu. [Pg.88]

2 The detection limit is approximately 0.03 pg/L in the digest. The determination limit is approximately 0.09 pg/L (10 respectively 30 pg/kg in the dried plant material). [Pg.88]
