Destabilization and Mixing of Massless Particles

Two mixing enhancement controllers with a similar feedback law were simulated. The controller consists of a pair of actuators acting in the streamwise direction at the jet exit in an antisymmetric fashion and a pair of sensors measuring the pressure difference across the original jet diameter. In the above expressions, Ui and L n are the actuators. A u is the proportional gain, py x, t) is the transverse pressure difference across the jet diameter [Py=+o,5 — Pj/=-o s] at downstream location Xi and time t, and r is the delay. A saturation is set to the actuator for practical purposes and to ensure numerical stability. The two different control laws are illustrated in Fig. 9.3. [Pg.92]
