Design Reduction of an enamine

Enamines can be reduced to the corresponding saturated amine by treatment with [Pg.105]

The experimental procedure is very simple and there are only two variables to consider Xj, the amount of formic acid, and Xj, the reaction temperature. The levels of the variables are shown in Table 5.6. [Pg.106]

When the reaction was complete, the resulting mixture was treated with aqueous sodium hydroxide. Then the composition of the organic layer was analyzed by gas chromatography. The recovery of organic material was quantitative. [Pg.106]
