Design of the Cone Section

This section presents the geometry of construction of a 3-dimensional cone or, more specifically, that of a frustum of such a cone. Applications include  

When one designs cyclones, the cone diameters, Dd and Dc2, and the height of the cone. He-, or cone angle, / , are normally known. Given these, one can then compute the cone lengths or radii l and + 2 (shown in Fig. 15.1.8) and the 2-dimensional pattern angle 0. The values for li and + 2 are given by the equations
