Departure from Equilibrium in the Clinkering Process

In this section the departure from equihbrium state hnked with too low fineness of raw mix components or with insufficient homogenization, thus with lack of homogeneity of this mixture will be not discussed. They will be discussed in Sect. 2.3. This section will be limited to the lack of equihbrium in the crystallization process on clinker phase composition. [Pg.46]

The rrrixture G of lower lime saturation will compose at 1500 °C of crystals C3S arrd C2S as well as of meltX, laying on the crossing point of binary eutectic C3S arrd C2S (the line separating their primary frelds of crystallization) with isotherm 1500 °C. From this melt will further crystallize C3S and C2S until the melt will reach the corrrposition Y. In this poirrt C3A precipitation will begin and the rest of melt will crystallize. [Pg.47]

In average Portland cement clinker, in which the A/F ratio is significantly higher than in the last discussed examples, the C3S corrlent is higher in the case of rapid melt cooling. The opposite is for A/F 0.64. [Pg.47]

The field of Portland eement elinker marked in the system Ca0-Al203-Si02 lies in prineiple inside the triangle C3S-C2 3 taken together [Pg.48]
