Dendritic systems elimination-based

Under the experiment conditions, the enzymatic cleavage occurs within seconds. Therefore, the observed release time of the tryptophan is also the actual disappearance time of the intermediate forms after the enzymatic cleavage. This dramatic enhancement of tail-unit release with the elimination-based system (dendritic molecule 19) compared to the cyclization-based system (dendritic molecule 18) is best viewed by superimposition of the graphs (Fig. 5.13). [Pg.126]

We decided to apply the elimination-based dendritic system to the synthesis of an anticancer prodrug and to evaluate it in a tumor cell cytotoxicity assay. Dendritic prodrugs 20 and 21 were synthesized with the chemotherapeutic drug melphalan as a tail unit and a trigger that is activated by PGA (Fig. 5.14). [Pg.126]

These conditions, known as dendritics, may become hazards and could result in an accident or occupational disease. Continuous safety sampling methodology performs a random sampling for the occurrence of these dendritics. The collected data are then used to generate a control chart. Based on the pattern of the control chart, a system under control is not disturbed whereas a system out of control is investigated for potential conditions becoming hazardous. Appropriate steps are then taken to eliminate or control these conditions to maintain a desired safe system. [Pg.228]
