Dendograms cluster analysis

The cluster analysis provides a graph which is called Dendogram, where the y axis gives the distance that measures the similarity of the things tested. In this study, Infrared spectra were analyzed. The spectral distance indicates the degree of spectral similarity. Two spectra with a spectral distance of 0 are entirely identical (within the frequency ranges tested). The higher the distance between two spectra, the lower the similarity between spectra. [Pg.211]

Figure 1. Dendogram of cluster analysis results from phospholipid fatty acid profiles of rhizosphere and nonvegetated soils from the contaminated site. Comparisons of qualitative differences between the groups of microorganisms present in the different samples illustrated the primary clustering of nonvegetated soil samples with Lespedeza cuneata rhizosphere soil samples, and Solidago sp. rhizosphere soil with Firms taeda rhizosphere soil and Paspalum notatum rhizosphere soil samples. Secondary clustering occurred between Firms taeda soil samples and Faspalum notatum soil samples. Figure 1. In our previous analysis, correlation coefficients were used between the fold distributions in different genomes to construct a distance matrix and a corresponding cluster dendogram (Wolf et al., 1999). This clustering showed significant differences in the fold composition between eukaryotes and prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea) as well as between free-living and parasitic bacteria. [Pg.267]
