Delegated legislation

Delegated legislation is suitable for detailed technical matters. By avoiding the formality required for an Act of Parliament the legislation can be adapted, and speedily (for example, the maximum unfair dismissal payment may be increased quickly by an Order). [Pg.25]

Supporting regulations made under section 15 of the HSW Act expand these duties and are referred to as subordinate or delegated legislation. [Pg.346]

Comitology is an EC decision-making process involving the delegation of power (to adopt decisions and standards, and sometimes to amend legislation) by the Council to the Commission, subject to the approval of a committee composed of Member State representatives. [Pg.129]

Acts of Parliament are known as statutes and are a means by which Parliament makes new law or changes existing law. Regulations support the Act under which they are made and define conditions and mechanisms through which the Act is put into place. Various departments are defined under the Constitution, cis are the laws of Parliament that each department is entrusted to administer. Due to the size and complexity of the legislation administered by each department, for ease of administration Parliament has included provisions in most Acts and Regulations to delegate discretionary and other powers that normally vest in the Minister or perhaps the Secretary of the Department, to more subordinate officers. [Pg.18]

Many states have enacted legislation that expands the practice of pharmacy to include CDTM. As of June 2000, there were at least 27 states granting the statutory authority for the practice of CDTM. The nature of CDTM prescriptive authority for pharmacists varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and its definition is in flux. In some jurisdictions, the pharmacist will be required to acquire advanced training and experience in order to participate in such a role. In other jurisdictions, delegated prescriptive authority may be restricted to certain settings, such as health care institutions or nursing homes. [Pg.719]

The Conseil has made it clear that the legislator remains free to configure the organisation and administration of social security institutions, or to delegate these tasks to specific bodies, on the condition that due justice is done to the equal treatment principle. [Pg.76]
