Dedicated Exporters

Some Chinese companies set their sights on the external market from the time the government opened the economy, probably motivated by global economies of scale or the knowledge that their businesses was inherently global. 

When China s dedicated exporters broke into mass markets, they enjoyed an edge over rivals because of their low production costs. A good example is the US 88 million Guangzhou-based Pearl River Piano, which established one of the world s largest piano manufacturing facilities in 1992. From its earliest days, as the company established its reputation as a reliable piano supplier in the local market, it also searched out an entry into the US market. Dedicated export lines on bulk tanks containing petrol should ideally be fitted with fire-safe, fail-closed ROSOVs this would be the minimum expectation for a new tank installation. For existing installations, the need to provide ROSOVs retrospectively should be subject to an assessment according to the principles in FISG244. This assessment will need to include consideration of an individual having to enter a hazardous location to manually operate a valve for emergency isolation. 

To read the exported CSV result files of CellProfiler into KNIME, we first capture the path of all files with a List Files node. The list of paths is then connected to an Iterate List of Files node to load the data into a KNIME workflow. The barcode, plate row, and plate column metadata contained in the CSV files are used to associate a plate layout file (either a CSV file or a Microsoft Excel file) to an experimental condition for each line (lines representing either objects or images). This association can be carried out either with a Joiner or a dedicated Join Layout node developed by us. We have generated tables containing over 10 million lines and hundreds of columns. KNIME is able to carry out computations... 

The chapter, Safety Matrix People Applying Technology to Yield Safe Chemical Plants and Products by Davis of Dow Chemical, is concerned with protecting and improving safety in chemical plants. Dow Chemical has dramatically improved its safety record and seized a leadership position among chemical companies in the past decade. This improvement is not an accident, but the result of a dedicated attitude and systemic application that should be exported to the entire chemical industry. The lessons here would make us all winners and demonstrate that the chemical engineers are the solutions rather than the problems. 

The Organic Vignerons Association of Australia (OVAA) is a small certification organisation dedicated to organic winemaking. Its membership is small yet some of its members are very successfully exporting product into Europe and the US.

Since the mid-1990s, China dedicated itself to increasing its processing capacity. They shifted domestic policy to favor soybean meal for livestock feed, and soybean oil for human consumption. This policy causes China to import large quantities of soybeans, mostly from Brazil and the United States, to fuel its growing processing industry. Chinas demand combined with Brazil s relatively small-animal industry resulted in Brazil exporting 73% of the soybeans it produces (production + a small amount of imports), 48% in the form of meal and 52% as raw soybeans. 

There are therefore good reasons to question whether Iran will become a substantial gas exporter to Europe over the next 25 years. Export volumes projected in Table 3.1 are relatively modest in relation to total MENA exports, and would be very unlikely to include pipeline gas exports dedicated to European markets, as opposed to LNG exports from Iran for which Europe would be in competition with Pacific and (assuming a resolution of current political problems) North American markets. 

The best prospects for substantial additional pipeline gas dedicated to the European market will be from North African countries. But these producers have domestic gas requirements which may limit their ability to substantially expand exports and, even when they choose to do so, they may, like those in the Middle East, prefer...

Job descriptions should be prepared that accurately describe the roles and responsibifities of employees with TSCA compliance responsibifities. Again, the larger the organization, the more likely there will be employees dedicated to this task. But, those are not the only employees with TSCA responsibifities. Job descriptions of employees in import, export, research, production— virtually all employees whose operations are impacted by TSCA—should all have a segment on the TSCA responsibifities. This exercise can be done in conjunction with the development of TSCA compliance procedures, discussed below. Employees cannot comply with a law unless they are aware that their operations are impacted by that law and how they are impacted. ...
