Deck plate platform

A grating platform is depicted in Exhibit 12-5. When this type of platform is used, the platform top-of-steel elevation does not include the thickness of the grating. Moderate pipe support loads can be imposed on this design holes for piping should be banded for reinforcement. A deck plate platform is shown in Exhibit 12-6. This commonly used form of decking is V4 in (10 mm) thick. 

Ftg, S—CPI, or corrugated-plate interceptor, olten used on offshore platforms, requires less deck space than conventional paraDel-oiaie designs. OH coalesces in channels formed t y plate corrugations. 

The results of blast and gas dispersion analyses vary significantly depending on whether the deck is made of plate or grate. Therefore the assumptions made as to the type of deck that will be used in various parts of the platform need to be explicit.
