Cis-2-Decalone

In neutral media the product configuration is dependent not only on the polarity but also on the type of solvent used. When the solvents arc separated into hydroxylic and nonhydroxylic categories, there is a correlation between the dielectric constant of the solvent and the proportion of e/.v-2-decalone, cis-2, obtained in the hydrogenation of octalone 128.
