Deacetylation reductive iodination

Olefin addition. Addition of iodine and A -cholestene to a solution of silver trifluoroacetate in methylene chloride generates iodine trifluoroacetate which adds to the olefin to give 3a-iodo-2 -trifluoroacetatoxycholestane in 72% yield.
