Dangerous occurrences definition

Under the Notification of Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1980 (NADOR), since superseded by the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1985 (RIDDOR ) the definition of a major injury has changed with the effect of changing the previous classification of accidents used for statistics. 

This definition suggests, correctly, that an accident can occur without injury or damage resulting. Different terms are often used to describe an accident when there are no visible signs of injury or damage. Terms such as near miss , dangerous occurrence , and critical incident are in common use however, they are still accidents.
