A convenient preparation of 2-allylcyclohexanone involves simply heating the diallyl ketal of cyclohexanone in toluene containing a trace of p-toluenesulfonic acid and collecting a distillate consisting of toluene and allyl alcohol. Distillation of the residue gives a 90% yield of 2-allylcyclohexanone. Outline the mechanism of this reaction.
