Cyclododecene and derivatives catenanes

Both cyclic oligomers (n = 2-14) and high polymers are produced from cyclododecene (Fig. 11.2). A rather remarkable phenomenon is observed when 

3-Methyl-tra 5-cyclododecene has also been polymerized the IR spectrum of the hydrogenated polymer indicates that it contains about 5% each of HH and TT structures (Dall Asta 1972a).
