Cuprates organo mixed

Higher-order cuprates have also been made from Grignard reagents and from organo-zinc species the resulting cuprate reactivity is less for mixed Li/Mg-based systems and mixed Mg/Zn-based ones, although alkylation of primary alkyl iodides may still be accomplished in these cases2,9. 

The known addition of organo-copper species to alkynes has been confirmed as occurring in a cis fashion.The adducts (36) react sluggishly with epoxides, but a recent report indicates that if a 1-lithioalkyne is added the (presumed) mixed cuprate formed adds smoothly to the less substituted carbon of epoxides to provide a highly regio- and stereo-selective one-pot route to homoallylic alcohols (Scheme 18).
