A great many different materials have been used in osmotic pressure experiments. Various forms of cellophane and animal membranes are probably the most common membrane materials. Various other polymers, including polyvinyl alcohol, polyurethane, and polytrifluorochl-oroethylene, have also been used along with such inorganic substances as CuFe(CN)6 precipitated in a porous support. 

Note A more sensitive test for Cu is the addn of a few drops of a dil poln of K Fe (CN) to the slightly acidic filtrate. A reddish-brown color due to CuFe(CN)e indicates the Dresence of Cu... 

Many sulfide minerals have structures closely related to those of sphalerite and wurtzite. Chalcopyrite, CuFeS, is an example (Fig. 11-21). Its structure 0 is a tetragonal superstructure of sphalerite, with the copper and iron atoms in the zinc positions of sphalerite. 

Some molecules also have "handedness". Such molecules are called chiral mole cufes. Chiral molecules differ from their reflections, while achiral molecules are exactly the same as their reflections.
