Crystallization by nucleation and growth

At the indicated range of temperature the amorphous films crystallize by nucleation and growth of colonies of about SOfim in diameter. The growth velocity is constant at a fixed temperature and increases exponentially with temperature. The colony (Fig.l) consists of a polycrystalline Ge core forming a Dense Branching Morphology embedded in single crystalline Al.
