Figure 15.4 plots the relationship between the lattice constant of the a-axis of langasite-type crystals and their piezoelectric constant, du [10,12]. The piezoelectric constant increases with the lattice constant of the a-axis. This is an empirical diagram, but is useful for designing new crystals with higher piezoelectric constant. [Pg.384]
