Norsinoactine, C18H19O4N (mp 114°-115° [a]jC -107°) (XLI) which had been isolated previously from Croton balsamifera Jacq. 44) was isolated from the above species along with a new base, flavinine, C18H19O4N (mp 130°-132° [ajp —6°). Exhaustive spectral data indicate not only the structural features but the absolute stereochemistry as XLII (R-l-R = H-t-Me) 45) similar to that already ascribed to amurine (XLII R -b R = CHa) 61, 62). [Pg.469]
