Crosslinked enzyme aggregate

Mateo, C., et al. (2004) A new, mild crosslinking methodology to prepare crosslinked enzyme aggregates. Biotechnol. Bioeng., 86, 273-276. [Pg.82]

Protein-polymeric membrane in a microchannel is prepared by using a concentric laminar flow (Fig. 43) [267]. Crosslinking condensation of a crosslinked enzyme aggregate (CLEA) [268] with aldehyde groups, which react with amino groups of the enzyme, in a concentric laminar flow results in the formation of a cylindrical enzyme-polymerized membrane on the inner wall of the microtube. The use of this technology for membrane formation in a microchannel can be extended to a broad range of functional proteins. [Pg.37]

The monomer of the polymer is mixed with the enzyme solution to aggregate with the aid of polymerization accelerator (including the crosslinking agent). [Pg.71]

The elution time of the mutant carboxylase by analytical gel filtration is significantly reduced, relative to that of the wild type enzyme, a dimer of large sub mits (Fig.2). Analysis in denaturing conditions demonstrates that the mutant protein is a polymer of large subunits. Comparison with the elution profile of aggregates of crosslinked by disulphide bridges shows that the mutant elutes within the range of an octomer Lg (Fig.2). [Pg.2315]
