In late 1883 the engineer, former pupil of KTH and active member of TF Albert Cronquist summoned a meeting to discuss the formation of an organization for chemists in Sweden. The outcome of the meeting was successful and a new organization was established. According to the statutes members should be members of TF in Stockholm or entitled thereto . ... [Pg.309]

The author of the report, who promoted organisation and collaboration, was Albert Werner Cronquist (1846-1910), who deserves a few words of introduction. He was a new type of chemist, working with industry, by taking on the role of a consultant chemist, making a living from his chemical education, not at a university nor in industry, but as a private entrepreneur.
