Throughout the approach. Captain Khowyter seemed to be flying the plane himself. This was undoubtedly not what should have been happening - he should have asked First Officer Hasanain to fly, and Khowyter should have concentrated on managing the crisis. However, Hasanain had only quahfied 11 days previously. Perhaps Khowyter did not trust him to fly the plane in an emergency, in which case this put extra burden on Khowyter.
