Counting tricks

In the absence of a kilopixel THz camera, one needs to play tricks to increase the imaging speed and pixel count of images. One method is to convert THz to another frequency range (e.g., visible) for which imaging cameras are readily available. Another method is a synthetic aperture imaging/interferometric imaging approach [72],... 

Is this just a parlor trick that has no lasting effect If you do it just that one time, yes. But if you make it a habit to take several little mini-vacations a day of deep breathing, eventually you ll see a lasting benefit. You ll eventually reach a point where you breathe fewer times per minute throughout the entire day. How many times per minute do you breathe now You probably have no idea unless you make it a point to count your breaths. Do so now. Note the number. Then make an effort to breathe fewer times per minute but more fully and deeply. Studies have proven that people who do this will have lower blood pressure levels. 

Simple exercise in counting electrons with a few hidden tricks. 

This would nicely explain (La C74) as being the next most stable lanthanum fullerene—it has the same 76-shelI electron count as C76. The lower panel of Figure 1 shows that (La 74) does appear to be nearly as abundant as (La C 2) in the sublimed film. But no such trick can be found at the 60- and 70-electron shell closings since (LaSCgg) and (La Ctg) have no structures that avoid adjacent pentagons. 

It may be difficult to know which fringe is correct if the dispersion of the birefringence of the fiber is different to that of the compensator. A useful trick is to cut a wedge at the end of the fiber and count the number of fringes along the wedge, which is the number of full orders of path difference [21]. The additional partial order is measured with a compensator [22] (Section 3.4.3). 

Cutting a drum of coke in 1 Vr hours is no mean trick. It can only be done by an experienced person determined to make every minute count. For example, he must be able to decide when a section of coke is undercut by the sound of water hitting the sides of the drum. He must have a "feel" for the stem at the maximum safe speed he must take care not to leave sizable chunks of coke adhering to the sides of the drum. Any coke left in a drum goes through a second coke cycle and becomes superhard the next time the drum is opened for decoking.
