Viscosity cost determination, optimum

About 8% higher polymer concentrations were required than those found in the 30-day test, but the overall cost for the project using Polymer Cl was still well below that of the other candidates. As the viscosity was decreased to the 3.5 and 2.2 cp (3.5 and 2.2 mPa s) levels, required concentrations of polymer rose to 16ilS and 32%, respectively. The optimum shear level has not been determined for these two cases, but less shear degradation anJ lower polymer concentrations are expected for an optimized system. Additional optimization tests are planned prior to injection of the 3.5 and 2.2 cp (3.5 and 2.2 mPa s) slugs. [Pg.143]
