Jafri and Greenberg (1991) described the case of a 15-year-old boy who became psychotic directly related to his receiving fluoxetine. After his medication was stopped, he improved over about 1 week s time. Hersh et al. (1991), physicians from Cornell University Medical College, described an 11-year-old girl who developed a delusional system on Prozac. 

In 1914 Sumner became an assistant professor of biochemistry at the Ithaca division of the Cornell University Medical College and was promoted to full professor in 1919. In 1938 he moved to the Cornell School of Agriculture, where in 1947 a laboratory of enzyme chemistry was estabhshed rmder his direction. Oxytocin was the first small peptide to be synthesized. Its synthesis was achieved in 1953 by Vincent du Vigneaud (1901-1978), who later synthesized vasopressin. Du Vigneaud was bom in Chicago and was a professor at George Washington University Medical School and later at Cornell University Medical College. For synthesizing these nonapeptides, he received the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1955.
