Copolymerization of Anhydro Sugars

The copolymerization of anhydro sugars was studied for the following monomers  

6 - anhydro- 2,3 - di-O-benzyl-4-0-(2,3,4,6-tetra-0-benzyl-oc-d -glucopyranosyl) -P-D- gtuco-pyranose (MBMA) 

Reactivity ratios of copolymerization of TXGL th TBGA, TBMM and MBMA have been determined 31). Some of these results arc summarized in Table 8.4.

Comparison of the rate constants of homo- and cross-propagations led initially to the conclusion that the reactivity of anhydro sugars is governed by the energy required for the change of conformation of the entering monomer when it becomes incorporated into the growing center
