Guggenheim (1952) named cooperative energy , intuitively associating this term with an exchange reaction of the type... 

In most cases, dihydrogen bonds do not show cooperative energy effects. However, even in the absence of cooperative effects, increasing the number of dihydrogen bonds leads to a large stabihzation energy. This is a very important prerequisite for the creation of molecular assemblies.
