Cooking zone

The assumptions made in the model development include (a) the space dependence is one-dimensional and axial along the vessel (b) the temperature and the alkali concentration within the chips are assumed to be uniform (c) the chips and the entrapped liquor phase are in local thermal equilibrium (d) delignification reaction only occurs in the cooking zone. 

Another use for PTFE-coated glass fabric is in industrial cooking. The flexible fabric may be used as a conveyor belt through the cooking zone of industrial equipment where the flexibility, thermal and chemical resistance, and the release properties of the polymer are key. Because FIFE exhibits excellent performance at a very wide range of temperatures, the fabric may also be employed as the conveyor belting in coolers and freezers. 

Ceran glass ceramic cooktops are marketed with surface decorations. There are several reasons for this the smooth, shiny surface is rendered even more attractive by suitable decoration. Cooker manufacturers can raise their product profile with attractive decoration of this kind. The practical aspects are perhaps most important of all the decoration clearly marks the position of the cooking zones even when the heating elements are switched off. Decoration makes surface scratches, fingerprints, etc., less noticeable. The thickness... 

The latest innovation is the further development of the material to produce the new Ceran Suprema glass-ceramic cooktop panel. Optimization of the composition of the material plus a new manufacturing process resulted in a further improvement of the heat transmission and temperature resistance of the glass ceramic. In consequence, built-in radiant heating elements can now be adjusted to higher cooking zone temperatures. And boil-up time, depending on the cookware used, can be as much as 20% less (see also Sect. 3.2.3).
