Contrast Enhanced MRI for Disease Diagnosis

SNR and CNR are terms that describe the contrast of MR images. SNR is the signal-to-noise ratio and is equal to SIroi/SD, where SI is the signal intensity and SD is the standard deviation. SNR describes the signal from the ROI. The contrast-to-noiseratio [CNR = (SIroi - SIbackground)/SD] is used to describe the difference between the ROI and the background. [Pg.421]

The use of specific CAs improves the quality of images and provides additional physiological information. For example, HSA-binding CAs provide a wide window for MRI scans, and [Pg.421]
