Many different melt filtration systems are available commercially ranging from simple screen pack and breaker plate assemblies, which require the process line to be halted every time the screen is replaced, to more sophisticated continuous screen changers, where contaminated filter mesh is automatically moved away from the melt flow path when the pressure drop across the filter exceeds a set level.
