Contact precautions

Communicability Direct person-to-person transmission is rare. When dealing with infected individuals, use standard contact precautions. Avoid direct contact with wounds or wound drainage. 

Communicability Direct person-to-person transmission does not occur. Patients are infectious and can inoculate any mosquitoes that feed on them from shortly before a fever is present until the fever passes. When dealing with infected individuals, use standard contact precautions. If hemorrhagic symptoms are present, use VHF-specific barrier precautions.
