Tobiaftate is 0-2-naphthyl-m,N-dimethyl-thiocarbanilate it is used as a topical fungistatic in a 1—2% concentration. A second case of contact dermatitis to tolnaftate has been described. The patient had positive patch tests with concentrations of 0.1% and 1% in vaseline (25 ). Plempel recently stressed the fact that tolnaftate has an exclusively fungicidal effect on dermatophytes.
