Congenital Tarsal Coalition

Congenital tarsal coalition is a fairly common disorder affecting approximately 1% of people with the onset of symptoms in the second decade of life. It is related to an abnormal union between two bones of the hind- and midfoot, causing restricted normal subtalar motion, flatfoot deformity, pain and other disturbances (Newman and Newberg 2000).
