Conformational Interconversions in Metal-Phosphine Complexes

C-P-M bond angles that serve to increase the distance between neighboring PRj groups. Possible mechanisms for the transmission of structural information across metal complexes are discussed. 

It is unlikely that we will ever know the details of the atomic motions taking place during fluxional behavior of these [XM(PR3)3] and [XYM(PR3 2] complexes, but it is important to stress that the method of structure correlation has at least suggested some geometrically feasible possibilities for these motions.
