A kinetic study of the 5 2 Menshutkin reaction between tertiary amines and ethylene chlorohydrin in aqueous solutions has shown that the rate of reaction varies with the concentration of the reactants the rates actually increase and then decrease as the concentration of the reactants is increased, but different rates were found using different amines.
