Comparison of Bond Energies in Hydroperoxides versus Peroxides

6 Comparison of Bond Energies in Hydroperoxides versus Peroxides [Pg.56]

The Cd—OOC versus Cd—OOH bond energies show almost no variation in the corresponding vinyl, phenyl and ethynyl species. Difference between Cd—OOC and Cd—OOH bond energy in vinyl species values vary from 0.7 to 1.5 kcal mol. This difference increases slightly, to 2.6 kcal mol when we consider the allyl hydroperoxide and peroxide. [Pg.56]

The ethynyl species do not exhibit any difference in bond energy between Q—OOH and Q— OOC. The Ct—OOX bond energies are found to be 94 kcal mol for CHsCOOH and CH COOCHs and 101 kcal mol for CHsC COOHand CHsC COOCHs. [Pg.57]

The CH3—OOH/CH3—OOCH3 system show bond strength difference of 1.9 kcal mol (from Table 13.16). [Pg.57]
