3 Combinations of species other than sulphonated hydrocarbons 

The presence of sulphonated hydrocarbons does not really make much difference. In the following examples it is assumed that a sulphonated hydrocarbon is present. 

General. Acid hydrolysis by the procedure appropriate to the most resistant species present, then a second BEC titration plus the determination of at least one hydrolysis product. 

Any sulphate with any sulphonated ester except a-sulphonated fatty ester. Determine one of the following to measure the sulphate  

With a glyceride sulphate and any other sulphate together, this is the simplest approach.
