Combating Erosion-Corrosion

When combating erosion-corrosion by changing tube metallurgy, caution must be exercised to ensure appropriate tube and baffle spacing so that vibration-associated cracking problems are not introduced. 

Using thin-walled metallic tube shields over the inlet end to combat erosion/corrosion of tube inner surface5, is recommended.
