In applications in which the fibrillated polypropylene is mixed as short fibres in a cementitious matrix, the fibrillation plays an additional important role. It provides an initial structure of bundled, collated filaments, cross linked together. This bundle can disperse uniformly in the matrix as filaments (fibrils) which are separated from the collated-fibrillated fibre during the mixing operation (Figure 10.2(c) and (d)). [Pg.374]
