Let us start with the quantum beats measurements of DLl mutant RCs of Rb. capsulatns with 80 fsec pump pulse, which was reported by Matrin et al. [75,76]. This mutant lacks bacterial pheophetines so that ET does not take place in the picosecond time scale. In other words, the quantum beats result from a coherent excitation of vibrational states.
