Coaxial traveling wave

Mechanically similar to the coax slot antenna, the VHF multi-slot antenna (Fig. 13.59f) consists of an array of axial slots on the outer surface of a coaxial transmission line. The slots are excited by a traveling wave inside the slotted Hne. The azimuth pattern is typically within 5% of omnidirectional. The antenna is generally about 15 wavelengths long. [Pg.1550]
