Cluster compounds metalloboranes

A unique metalloborane structure is found in HMn3(CO)10(BH3)2 121> (Fig. 25). Here a B2H6 fragment is embedded in the cluster and actually serves to separate the Mn3 unit into two parts. The cluster is held together by one Mn-H-Mn and six Mn-H-B bridges. A particularly noteworthy feature of this compound is the fact that the B2H6 unit which is trapped within it has the otherwise-unknown ethanelike structure. [Pg.23]
