Clinical engineering facility planning

Equipment planners, who may not necessarily be clinical engineers, provide planning services, which typically include pro-foima databases that list typical equipment requirements by category. For example, a critical-care unit will require life-support equipment, thermal-support systems, patient monitors and monitor networks, infusion thraapy devices, patient beds and stretchers, sterilizers, and laboratory instruments down to commodity items such as IV poles, suction systems, flowmeters, and resuscitation equipment. Such databases are a key asset of equipment plaimers and are a key starting point of any new facility plaiming process. [Pg.977]
