Refractory grade chromite

Refractory-grade chromite is used for manufacturing magnesia-chrome bricks used in the extractive metallurgy of platinum group metals. Foundry sands made of chromite fines are used for making mould used for casting nonferrous metals.

Chrome ore and chromite are terms used synonymously in the refractory industry three grades of chrome ore are sold for industrial usage metallurgical, refractory, and chemical. Only the refractory grade is discussed here. 

Chromite or Chrome Iron Ore, (Chrome Iron Stone) (Chromerz, Chromeisenstein, Chromit or Ferrochrom in Ger), Q O.
