Christmas tree, “green

Bob looks beneath the dogwoods at the two creatures. Each has two large multifaceted eyes. They never blink. Their six limbs are jointed in three places, and their stride lengths are close to five feet. One of the ants has a golden abdomen. The other has an abdomen that blinks red and green, like a Christmas tree light. 

The only illumination comes from the green and red lights emitted by the bioluminescent bacteria coating the trees. It reminds you of Christmas.
