2-Chloroterephthaloyl chloride

Liquid crystalline poly(aryl ether ketone) polyesters are then prepared by copolymerization of the ester group containing poly(aryl ether ketone) with a liquid crystalline polyester. The crystalline polyester is synthesized from phenylhydroquinone ferf-butylhydroquinone, 2-chloroterephthaloyl chloride and isophthaloyl chloride. ... [Pg.212]

In NMP, 0,85 mol 2-chloro-p-phenylenediamine, and 0.15 mol 4,4 -di-aminodiphenyl ether are dissolved. 0.985 mol 2-chloroterephthaloyl chloride is added. After 2 hours, the polymerization is complete. The mixture is then neutralized with lithium hydroxide. The polymer solution is filtered and cast onto an endless belt. The solvent is evaporated at 160°C. A... [Pg.431]

A suspension of terephthalic dihydrazide (9.71 g. 0.05 mole) in 250 ml. of dimethylacetamide containing 8.40 g. lithixim chloride was cooled to 0°C. in an ice-water bath. Chloroterephthaloyl chloride (11.88 g. 0.05 mole) was added over a period of 70 minutes, while the mixture was stirred and protected from moisture with a flow of dry nitrogen. The solution became very viscous and was stirred an additional 30 minutes. The dope was neutralized with lithium carbonate (3.69 g. 0.05 mole). An isolated, washed and dried sample of polymer had an T inh 3.45 (dimethyl sulfoxide -5% LiCl). The yield of dry polymer was 98%. [Pg.45]
