Chlorine water, equivalent reagent

Mol. wt. 132.92, m.p. 32°. A. W. Hofmann prepared the reagent by chlorination of methylphosphonic acid with two equivalents of phosphorus pentachloride. Kinnear and Perren prepared it by reaction of methyl chloride with phosphorus trichloride and aluminum chloride and cautious decomposition of the complex with water. [Pg.336]
