CHETAH SAFETY CRITERIA

The number of molecules known nowadays is of the order of 20 million and increases by about 500,000 annually. The manufacture, storing and transport of these molecules and their mixtures cause safety problems. [Pg.134]

The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has developed a computer [Pg.134]

The level of risk is deduced from the values of the four criteria denoted Cj, C2, C3 and C4. The levels of risk have been established from the study of about 200 compounds, which are representative of the different families of chemical substances. [Pg.135]

The criterion Cj is the standard enthalpy of decomposition of the substance into small stable molecules H2O, CO2, N2, C... [Pg.135]

Evaluate the level of risk C for CH3—CH2—CH(N02)2-The decomposition reaction of this compound can be written  [Pg.135]

The application of the above to the calculation of CHETAH safety criteria is also given. [Pg.111]

This computer program calculates the thermodynamic data of molecules, of free radicals and of radical reactions in the gas phase between 300 and 5000 K by BENSON S methods. It also determines the CHETAH safety criteria. [Pg.319]
