A number of wristbands or watches are available for monitoring activity and/or heart rate. It was but a few minutes before the trumpets would sound. In our enclosure I looked over my horse, Belle Bete, and all our harness, as I have done a thousand times before and since. On such care for small things may a man s life rest, my father used to say in the stables, when I grew impatient as boys will with buckles and thongs, the proper care of leather and iron. Do not trust such care to any but yourself. When it was time to mount, I saw that the trappings over Belle Bete s chest hung crookedly, and the straps at his withers were differently fastened. Who has done this I asked. [Pg.127]

The sieve is hung on straps from the ceiling and is kept in oscillating motion by means of an eccentric driven from a compartment adjacent to that in which the screening installation is located. The end product is transported in leakproof chests or in paper-lined barrels. [Pg.519]

ON MARCH 22, Aislabie came back from a visit to London and summoned me to the library, where I found him sprawled in my father s chair, surrounded by teetering piles of unsorted books. His feet were propped on a small chest with leather straps, and he held a long furl of paper. [Pg.108]

RIP signals can be caught by an insulated sinusoidal wire coil embedded into a stretchable textile strap (Figure 12.2). Woxmd around the chest or abdomen, the textile strap is supposed to be stretched by the respiration. The coU inductance is directly governed by the change of sinusoid shapes. This method has been widely adopted in several commercial products, including LifeShirt . [Pg.260]

Harnesses have straps around the thighs, waist, chest and shoulders to more evenly distribute the force of a fall and cradle the worker. Harnesses are the safer choice a harness can be used in a variety of situations and a harness can do everything a belt can do.
